Calaf Trenching of Catalonia, Spain has been developing and manufacturing efficient trench opening systems for 40 years. Very recently they started using Black Bruin’s X-series hydraulic motors in some of their chain trenchers. The reasons were clear: Calaf Trenching wanted a compact and economically competitive motor which copes with the heavy-duty and important job reliably and for a long time.

Black Bruin helped SID to simplify the machine design by replacing a small motor and a planetary drive. The motor chosen was customized in order to meet SID technical standards and special requirements.

Black Bruin is collaborating on a research project coordinated by the Agricultural Machinery and New Technologies Chair at the Polytechnical Institute UniLaSalle in France. The project aims to evaluate the performance of a plow equipped with a hydraulic wheel drive system in field cultivation.
